MacroPoker to Host First-Ever Online Poker Awards on December 17th

macropokerMacroPoker, an online poker results tracking website, has revealed that it is to host the first Online Poker Awards that are to take place on December 17th. All poker lovers will be given the chance to watch the event live directly on YouTube and the MacroPoker’s Twitch channel.

The website, which offers an online poker statistical database, has shared that it plans to honour poker players for their performances with its Online Poker Awards. A total of 10 open categories as well as Best Player award category are featured by the event. The Best Player award will be granted to one professional poker player in each of the 20 countries included in the awards list, such as the UK, Canada, Germany and Australia. Country awards will also be granted to players of the Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Denmark, Greece, Romania, Sweden, Norway, France, Spain, Italy, Norway, the Czech Republic, Argentina and Brazil.

The event that is scheduled for December 17th would be the first ceremony ever to be especially focused on online poker players recognition. A number of categories are featured, including the categories for the Best High-, Middle- and Low Stakes MTT Player, the Player with the Highest Profit award, the Best SNG and the Best HU Player awards. There will also be a Discovery of the Year category, a Legend of Online Poker, Best Caster categories, as well as a special Sponsor’s Prize. All registered website members will be given the opportunity to vote for the Legend and Caster categories. It seems that there will also be Best Online Poker Live Streamer award.

What is interesting about the Legend of Online Poker award is that the latter will be granted to the most successful tournament poker player since 2012. The rest of the awards that is to be given at the event in December will be based on the players’ performances in 2016 only.

In addition, the winners will be determined under the statistics displayed on the MacroPoker database. Of course, there is a preference to the tournaments results and achievements as qualifier conditions due to the fact that currently the website does not provide any data for online cash games. Some categories’ qualifier conditions are a bit unclear or do not clarify what players are eligible to win a certain award. However, the event is undoubtedly one of a kind up to date and is expected to come as a fresh addition to the world of poker.
